Design Engineer – Mill Liner Solutions

About the role

Bradken is looking for a Design Engineer to join its Las Condes, Santiago team. You will work closely with customers and internal functions to create, adapt and optimise mill liner products for demanding mining applications across Chile.

Key responsibilities

• Design and customise mill liner solutions to meet operational, customer and manufacturing requirements.
• Produce solid models, detailed drawings, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Use CAD, FEA and DEM tools to analyse performance and support design decisions.
• Participate in site visits, field evaluations, reverse‑engineering and product trials.
• Provide technical advice, presentations and problem‑solving support to customers and internal teams.
• Support new product development and commercialisation of improved engineering solutions.
• Ensure all outputs comply with Bradken, customer and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate data in Bradken’s engineering and product‑lifecycle systems.

Required profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering design experience in mining, metal casting, heavy manufacturing or related sectors.
• Proven ability to develop or customise products for specific customer applications.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites for inspections and technical support.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced CAD capability (Unigraphics NX or similar).
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations.
• Experience with Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations.
• Solid‑modeling and engineering drawing production.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and design for manufacturability.
