Development Manager - Renewable Energy

About the role

Akuo Energy is seeking a Development Manager to lead utility‑scale solar, wind and storage projects in Chile. Reporting directly to the Country Manager and working closely with the Project Management Team, you will drive projects from origination through permitting and financing.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new project opportunities, negotiating land agreements, PPAs and other asset contracts.
• Develop and maintain business plans, budgets and development schedules.
• Coordinate all permitting activities, including grid connection and environmental authorisations.
• Lead community engagement, public meetings and presentations.
• Maintain relationships with local institutions and regulatory bodies.
• Act as legal representative for project SPVs when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal development tools.

Required profile

• Engineer or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, Industrial or Energy fields.
• 5–7 years of experience in renewable energy project development.
• In‑depth knowledge of Chilean development processes and relevant regulators (CEN, CNE, SEC, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi‑stakeholder negotiations.
