Director, Services Business Development, Public Sector

About the role

The Director, Services Business Development, Public Sector will develop and execute the growth strategy for public sector clients and public banks across assigned markets, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of the Public Sector Services strategy based on local priorities.
• Identify and prioritize institutions, buying centers, and solution opportunities with high strategic potential.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of services opportunities, driving qualification, progression, and revenue realization.
• Engage senior public sector officials and executives to understand strategies and position Mastercard as a strategic partner.
• Orchestrate cross‑functional engagements, coordinating proposals, pricing, and commercial agreements.
• Act as trusted advisor to internal teams, sharing market insights and supporting internal capability building.

Required profile

• Significant experience in business development, consultative selling or strategic account management, preferably with professional services, data, analytics or digital solutions.
• Proven track record of originating, developing and closing complex B2B or business‑to‑government opportunities.
• Experience engaging senior and C‑level stakeholders in public banks or public sector agencies.
• Strong relationship management, project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
