Golang Developer – Cloud Media Services

About the role

EPAM is seeking a skilled Golang Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud‑native microservices that power live event management, media processing, and hybrid edge‑caching solutions. You will work with cutting‑edge Google Cloud technologies and contribute to high‑scale streaming workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Go microservices using gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and grpc‑gateway.
• Contribute to backend services for live event lifecycle management and media workflow operations.
• Support hybrid media‑cache services that bridge on‑prem file systems with Google Cloud Storage.
• Implement features from API design and protobuf schemas to deployment.
• Build event‑driven services with Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Workflows.
• Integrate Google Cloud media APIs such as Live Stream, Transcoder, Video Intelligence, and Vision AI.
• Write unit, integration, and load tests to ensure reliability.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and performance of existing services.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Kubernetes deployments, Helm, Terraform, and GKE rollouts.
• Participate in design and code reviews.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, including 2+ years building services in Go.
• Strong understanding of Go concurrency, context handling, error management, and graceful shutdown.
• Practical experience designing APIs with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and REST.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Solid backend engineering fundamentals with a focus on reliability and performance.
• English proficiency at least B1 for technical communication.
