Guest Service Officer (Onboard Hospitality)

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed front‑line support to guests aboard a cruise ship. You will actively listen, assist, and resolve guest issues, ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout a 5‑6 month onboard contract.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, listen to their concerns and provide timely assistance.
• Resolve guest issues and negotiate solutions with department heads and shipboard staff.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers and copy machines.
• Maintain accurate records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Friendly, people‑oriented with a good sense of humor.
• Strong hospitality mindset and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Excellent communication, organizational and decision‑making abilities.
• Willingness to work onboard for 5‑6 months.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Minimum one year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• At least one year of cash handling experience and familiarity with US currency.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
