Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional cleanliness experience for guests aboard Royal Caribbean ships. This role leads a team of housekeeping staff to ensure cabins, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces meet the brand’s premium standards while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning operations across all guest and crew areas, ensuring visual and hygienic standards are consistently met.
• Lead, coach and develop housekeeping supervisors and crew, conducting training, performance reviews and recognition programs.
• Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies, adhering to proper handling, PPE and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule deep‑cleaning, maintenance and special projects without disrupting guest services.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with Royal Caribbean’s Safety, Quality and Environmental (SQM) standards, USPH guidelines and brand policies.
• Prepare reports, analyze guest feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping management experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort or cruise ship.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, talent assessment and HR practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using industry software such as SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia and Kronos.
• General computer literacy and internet navigation.
