Intern – Economic Affairs

About the role

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Public Management and Open Government Area. The position will focus on research and knowledge‑product development related to public management, results‑based management, and digital government.

Key responsibilities

• Support research on public management topics such as results‑based management, open government, and civil service policies.
• Analyse trends and country experiences, preparing draft texts, infographics and other knowledge products.
• Assist in managing and updating the ILPES Regional Planning Observatory.
• Systematise experiences of territorialisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Prepare reports, presentations, charts, graphs and tables for senior staff review.
• Produce bibliographic summaries for inclusion in publications.
• Transfer content to digital tools such as Canva and Genially for distance‑learning materials.
• Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, master’s or Ph.D. programme.
• Field of study related to public administration, public policy, social sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and under supervision.
