Lead Data Scientist

About the role

Nielsen is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to coordinate its T&D Data Science team across the LATAM region. The role acts as a strategic business partner to senior leaders, translating commercial and product objectives into data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the T&D Data Science team across the LATAM cluster.
• Partner with Managing Directors, Presidents, and regional leaders to align data initiatives with revenue, productivity, and EBITDA goals.
• Engage with clients to understand strategic needs and deliver innovative, state‑of‑the‑art data science solutions.
• Collaborate with global data science and technology leaders to develop and prioritize new solutions.
• Define talent and team strategy to advance the Data Science organization’s vision.
• Plan and prioritize key initiatives for each country in alignment with business leaders.
• Support senior DBLs on escalated global T&D issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in market research or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the tech, durables, and retail industries.
• Academic background in statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Proven leadership, business acumen, and consultative abilities.
