Medical Scientific Liaison

About the role

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) will act as a scientific resource for Abbott’s Medical Affairs team in Chile. Based in Providencia, Santiago, the MSL will engage health‑care professionals and key opinion leaders to share clinical and scientific information about Abbott’s portfolio and support research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute short‑ and long‑term medical and scientific support plans aligned with unmet needs of key opinion leaders.
• Disseminate clinical and scientific data, providing technical support to ensure up‑to‑date product knowledge.
• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, proposing engagement actions to the medical team.
• Support Continuing Medical Education events and facilitate research initiatives in academic centers.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Market Access, Sales and other in‑field members while preserving functional independence.
• Capture insights from visits and translate them into actionable information for Abbott.
• Participate in scientific congresses and produce concise summaries for internal use.

Required profile

• Field‑based scientific professional with strong knowledge of disease states and Abbott’s therapeutic areas.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering credible presentations to individual HCPs and groups.
• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders.
• Collaborative mindset to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to ethical scientific exchange and compliance.
