Product Manager – Data Science & AI

About the role

Blend is seeking a Product Manager to lead the data science product roadmap within its digital advertising and video intelligence initiatives. You will act as the bridge between the data science squad and the broader engineering organization, turning business goals into actionable product requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the data science product roadmap, aligning it with business objectives.
• Manage inbound requests from Sales and Customer Success, triaging and prioritizing based on impact.
• Translate high‑level goals into clear product requirements for the data science and engineering teams.
• Oversee the model development lifecycle, including dataset validation, trade‑off analysis, and cost considerations.
• Ensure model quality and robustness before production, identifying issues early.
• Define success metrics and scope data‑science initiatives in collaboration with technical teams.
• Drive cross‑team coordination with a product‑first mindset, balancing delivery and strategic thinking.
• Serve as the central point of contact between the data science squad and the broader engineering organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product or program management experience in data‑focused or technical environments, preferably within financial services or a regulated industry.
• 2–4 years of experience managing a data science or similar technical team.
• Deep understanding of data‑science lifecycles, including scoping initiatives and defining success metrics.
• Proven ability to create high‑quality training data for model development.
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets (millions of records).
• Ability to identify and mitigate model issues before production.
• Strong product mindset combined with project‑management sensibility for distributed teams.
