Remote HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Specialist (US Projects)

About the role

We are looking for a Remote HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Specialist to support a U.S.-based construction client. The position is 100% remote from anywhere in Chile and follows a New York (EST) schedule. You will create detailed HVAC shop drawings, perform system layouts, and coordinate mechanical designs according to ASHRAE and U.S. standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and construction‑ready HVAC shop drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
• Design and size ductwork, equipment layouts, and piping distribution for commercial and residential projects.
• Apply ASHRAE standards and relevant U.S. mechanical codes to ensure compliant designs.
• Perform clash detection and spatial coordination with architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical disciplines using Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Review mechanical plans and specifications, identify constructability issues, and propose practical solutions.
• Maintain organized drawing revisions, technical documentation, and quality‑control reviews.

Required profile

• Advanced technical English (B2+/C1).
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC design, mechanical engineering, or MEP coordination.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
