Research Assistant – Agricultural Development Unit

About the role

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Agricultural Development Unit (ADU) within the Division of Production, Productivity and Management. The role focuses on food systems, bioeconomy and productive development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, monitor and summarize substantive work of the Unit in various countries, focusing on food systems, bioeconomy and productive development.
• Collect, analyse and validate statistical data, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Prepare background materials, reports, presentations, tables, charts and data sets for assessment papers and policy briefs.
• Maintain and update electronic and paper files, internal databases and generate periodic statistical tables and graphs.
• Coordinate data collection with other ECLAC divisions, UN offices and research institutes.
• Attend meetings, take notes and produce summary reports and correspondence.
• Support the organization of conferences and meetings by preparing documentation and reports.

Required profile

• Reports to the Chief of the Unit.
