Senior Accountant – Reinsurance & Coinsurance

About the role

Liberty Mutual Surety is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead end‑to‑end reinsurance and coinsurance accounting in its Santiago office. The role combines system implementation, monthly closing, and regulatory reporting while ensuring compliance with local and US GAAP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and parameterise the reinsurance module in the new core system, acting as a key user.
• Manage all reinsurance and coinsurance transactions, including periodic settlements, assignment fees, and special technical reserves for catastrophic risks.
• Prepare CMF regulatory reports and annexes related to reinsurance, maintaining controls for quality and traceability.
• Partner with external and internal auditors on reinsurance matters and coordinate with Legal, Underwriting, Treasury and reinsurance teams.
• Participate in additional finance projects and initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Commercial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting or reinsurance administration within a general insurance company.
• Knowledge of proportional reinsurance models and contract administration.
• Familiarity with local reinsurance regulations and US GAAP.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
