Senior QA Engineer – Test Automation Lead

About the role

XeXe is rebuilding the platform that powers cross‑border payments for SMEs and consumers. As a Senior QA Engineer you will own end‑to‑end quality, shape testing strategy, and ensure that code moving money reaches production without defects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain integration test harnesses and contract tests for payment flows and partner APIs.
• Lead the creation of test automation that gates code into production across onboarding, KYC/KYB, payment initiation, FX, settlement and related processes.
• Define the balance between manual and automated testing, write test cases, and drive automation using Playwright or equivalent frameworks.
• Own CI/CD quality strategy for your domain, manage release‑blocking signals, triage flaky tests, and maintain test infrastructure health.
• Investigate production incidents, translate findings into automated tests and process improvements.
• Conduct test‑architecture design reviews, set quality direction, and mentor mid‑level QA engineers.
• Leverage AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and AI‑generated test utilities daily.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years of experience building production‑grade test automation and end‑to‑end testing.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or C# for test framework design.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases for test data and validation.
• Hands‑on experience with API testing tools (Postman, Bruno) and UI automation (Playwright, Cypress).
• Knowledge of functional and non‑functional testing, including performance/load testing (k6, JMeter).
