Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in live production systems and media contribution workflows. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and supporting compression and transmission chains across IP and broadcast environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, quote, and implement live production systems, including equipment specification and bill of materials preparation.
• Maintain and improve infrastructure for signal delivery to support Linear and D2C business processes.
• Perform procedures and maintenance to ensure availability of live content contribution for international and LATAM operations.
• Evaluate new technologies for suitability in live production environments.
• Oversee integration of new systems, configure components, and manage relationships with third‑party and internal vendors.
• Provide system overviews and training to internal teams.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with live production systems (traditional and software‑defined) and media compression.
• Strong background in contribution encoding, delivery paths, and end‑to‑end signal distribution across IP and broadcast networks.
• Proficiency with virtualized compute and storage infrastructures and automation in live studio settings.
• Advanced understanding of live production workflows for sports, entertainment, and news.
• Recognized subject‑matter expert in design, optimization, and operational support of complex broadcast environments.
