Team Assistant – Administrative Support for Natural Resources Division

About the role

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is seeking a Team Assistant to provide administrative and logistical support for its Natural Resources Division. The role will support the project “Strengthening Technical, Operative, Political and Prospective (TOPP) Public Sector Capabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean for the Development of Critical Minerals.”

Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical assistance for project activities, including coordination of meetings and events.
  • Assist in preparing, editing, and formatting reports, presentations, correspondence and other documentation.
  • Maintain calendars, schedule changes and communicate updates to staff and external contacts.
  • Handle incoming mail, phone calls and visitors; draft routine responses or route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems and update databases as required.
  • Manage distribution lists, assemble documents for dissemination and coordinate courier services.
  • Perform basic data entry, extraction and other office‑support tasks such as travel requests, expense claims and visa applications.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment including photocopiers, printers and fax machines.

Required profile

  • Experience in providing administrative support in an office environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
