Team Assistant – Human Resources Section

About the role

The Human Resources Section of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago is seeking a Team Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support. Reporting to the Chief of the Human Resources Section, the assistant will help ensure smooth daily operations of the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions for the Human Resources Section.
• Draft and respond to routine correspondence and produce complex documents and reports using standard word‑processing software.
• Monitor schedules, verify receipt and accuracy of documents, approvals and signatures to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
• Research, compile and organize information for reports, work plans, briefings and meetings.
• Generate standard statistical reports and work orders using various databases.
• Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, style and format.
• Screen phone calls and visitors, handle information requests and refer inquiries as needed.
• Provide secretarial, logistical and technical support for meetings, boards, committees and conferences.
• Assist in website maintenance by scanning, converting and posting documents.
• Prepare presentation materials using appropriate software and maintain calendars and distribution lists.

Required profile

• Ability to work within delegated authority and follow established procedures.
• Strong attention to detail for document verification and proofreading.
• Effective communication skills for handling correspondence and inquiries.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard word‑processing software.
• Experience using databases for report generation and data entry.
