About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Scala to design and develop high‑performance, data‑intensive services. You will work remotely with a global team of top‑tier technologists, applying functional programming principles to build scalable, reliable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Scala and functional programming patterns.
• Build and maintain high‑concurrency systems with frameworks such as Akka or Play.
• Optimize performance by deep‑diving into JVM internals and memory management.
• Develop complex SQL queries and data models for data‑heavy applications.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on functional programming.
• Proven expertise building backend services and data‑intensive applications using Scala.
• Strong understanding of JVM internals and SQL for performance optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
