About the role

The Clerical Officer – Medicine provides essential administrative and clerical support to both clinical and non‑clinical staff within NHS Lanarkshire. Working in a busy healthcare environment, you will help ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations for the medical team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general reception duties, greeting visitors and managing enquiries.
• Operate the switchboard, directing calls to the appropriate departments.
• Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail efficiently.
• Handle photocopying and other routine office tasks as required.

Required profile

• Education to standard grade level or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Well‑developed interpersonal skills with a focus on customer care.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational and planning capabilities.
