Estates Officer – Sustainability

About the role

The NHS Fife Estates Department is seeking an Estates Officer (Sustainability) on a permanent basis. Based at Victoria Hospital, you will work across all sectors within Fife Estates to lead and develop the sustainability agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor sustainability strategies for NHS estates.
• Lead projects that reduce carbon emissions, waste and resource use.
• Analyse environmental performance data and produce regular reports.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable practices.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and NHS sustainability policies.
• Support sustainable procurement and facilities management initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sustainability management, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work across multiple estates and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
