Materials Manager – Mining and Metals

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Materials Manager for its Mining and Metals business unit. The role provides expertise, advice and direction for design‑office and field materials management activities, ensuring effective coordination across the global organization. It is a part‑time telework position requiring at least three days per week on‑site in Santiago.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional guidance to project materials management personnel in both design and field offices.
• Manage the global Business Unit Material Management function to plan, resource and implement projects effectively.
• Advise Supply Chain Management on automation of work processes and material‑management operations.
• Approve material‑management aspects of project execution plans and inventory control systems.
• Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports within the Material Management team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in materials management within mining, metals or related industrial sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain processes and automation concepts.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with design, field and supply‑chain stakeholders.
