Specialist Pharmacy Technician – Aseptic Services

About the role

The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service is seeking an experienced, GPhC‑registered pharmacy technician to lead its Aseptic Dispensing Unit. This role offers the chance to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, aseptically prepared medicines to a population of around 380,000.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and management of the Aseptic Dispensing Unit.
• Ensure safe, high‑quality preparation and supply of aseptically dispensed medicines.
• Manage staff, schedule variable shifts (07:00‑17:00 Mon‑Fri) and participate in weekend/public‑holiday rotas.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across acute, community, and mental‑health settings.
• Maintain compliance with NHS policies, PVG scheme requirements, and relevant legislation.

Required profile

• GPhC‑registered pharmacy technician with extensive post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience in managing staff and leading a team.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and relationship‑building ability.
• Willingness to obtain PVG scheme membership prior to appointment.
