Teacher Librarian – Full‑time

About the role

The International School Nido de Aguilas seeks a full‑time Teacher Librarian for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The role blends library management with instructional partnership, fostering critical thinking, information literacy, media literacy, and digital citizenship across the school community.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the media centre, ensuring a welcoming environment for students and staff.
• Implement cataloguing, inventory, circulation, and collection‑development policies.
• Collaborate with teachers and the Teaching & Learning Team to acquire curriculum‑aligned resources.
• Lead and supervise Library Assistants and support staff.
• Design and deliver information‑literacy and research‑skill programs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of educational trends, emerging technologies, and AI literacy.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent with relevant certifications.
• Proven experience managing a school library or media centre.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and build collaborative relationships.
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Library Management Systems such as Follett and Aleph.
• Knowledge of current and emerging information‑retrieval technologies.
• Experience with AI literacy initiatives.
