Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Haematology (Annex 21)

About the role

The Haematology Service at NHS Fife is seeking a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or a trainee ANP under the Annex 21 framework. Working across outpatient clinics, the inpatient ward (Ward 34) and the Haematology/Oncology Day Unit at Victoria Hospital, the role supports the multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused haematology care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage clinical needs of haematology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Develop and lead specialised outpatient clinics, including a pancytopenia management area for post‑chemotherapy and stem‑cell procedure follow‑up.
• Administer Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT) A and B chemotherapy safely and according to protocol.
• Provide education, leadership and support to junior staff, patients and carers throughout the treatment pathway.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Required profile

• Qualified ANP (Band 7) or experienced nurse eligible for ANP trainee status.
• Relevant experience in haematology/oncology nursing.
• Willingness to complete ANP qualification and training within two years.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Chemotherapy administration (SACT A & B).
• Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT) management.
