Clinical Educator – Perioperative Services

About the role

The Clinical Educator – Perioperative Services will lead and coordinate education, training and workforce development across all peri‑operative areas, including theatres, recovery, day surgery and endoscopy. This role ensures that staff have the knowledge, skills and competencies required to deliver safe, person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, maintain and evaluate standards of education and practice within peri‑operative services.
• Deliver education programmes, competency assessments and clinical supervision for nurses, assistant practitioners and health‑care support workers.
• Support workforce development through quality‑improvement initiatives and implementation of evidence‑based practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, higher‑education institutions, practice‑education teams and organisational learning departments.
• Undertake clinical duties and apply clinical skills in the peri‑operative environment.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid professional registration.
• Educated to degree level (or working towards) with postgraduate expertise in the relevant speciality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within peri‑operative practice.
