Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT)

About the role

The Haematology/Oncology Service at NHS Fife is recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work within the new Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT) service at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The role combines the Day Unit, Ward 34 and Acute Oncology services, offering a dynamic environment for experienced nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients receiving SACT, providing high‑quality, individualised care.
• Make complex clinical decisions and initiate treatment changes autonomously.
• Lead multidisciplinary team discussions and provide expert advice on patient pathways.
• Deliver education, mentorship and research activities to support service development.
• Coordinate supportive care for patients admitted with treatment‑related symptoms.

Required profile

• Qualified ANP (Band 7) or a nurse eligible for the Annex 21 trainee pathway.
• Significant experience in haematology/oncology nursing.
• Strong clinical reasoning, leadership and communication skills.
• Commitment to complete ANP qualification and training within two years (if trainee).
