Assistant Professor – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine

About the role

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks an Assistant Professor to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care and to advance education and research in respiratory and sleep health.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical services in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ENT, neurology, psychiatry, and primary care to support patient care, program development, and scholarly activity.
• Educate, mentor, and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, teaching rounds, and other academic activities.
• Maintain and expand expertise in sleep medicine, including interpretation of sleep studies and PAP management.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri.
• Board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
• Completion of a Sleep Medicine fellowship.

Required skills

• Interpretation of sleep studies.
• Positive airway pressure (PAP) management.
• Evidence‑based clinical practice in pulmonary and critical care.
