Associate Director of Nursing – Interface Services

About the role

The Associate Director of Nursing – Interface Services will join NHS Fife as a senior nursing leader within a newly created triumvirate model. Working alongside an Associate Medical Director and Service Manager, you will shape, lead and transform integrated interface services, driving new models of unscheduled and urgent care across Fife.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic nursing leadership for urgent and unscheduled care pathways, including Same Day Emergency Care, Hospital at Home, virtual wards and remote monitoring.
• Oversee flow navigation, discharge optimisation, frailty pathways and community interface services.
• Lead admission avoidance models and admission avoidance pathways.
• Collaborate across Acute Services, Health and Social Care Partnership, Primary Care and wider system partners to improve patient flow.
• Drive transformational change, workforce redesign and advanced practice development.
• Ensure robust professional assurance, clinical governance and quality improvement across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Significant senior nursing leadership experience within NHS Scotland.
• Extensive background in urgent and unscheduled care.
• Experience in interface services, flow improvement or service redesign.
• Strong knowledge of professional assurance, governance and quality improvement.
• Proven ability to lead transformational change across organisational boundaries.
• Excellent influencing, communication and partnership‑working skills.
• Values‑based, person‑centred leadership style.
• Experience in Hospital at Home, virtual services or digitally enabled models of care is highly advantageous.
