Band 2 Housekeeper – ICU (Fixed‑term/Secondment)

About the role

The Band 2 Housekeeper will support the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a fixed‑term/secondment basis, helping to maintain a safe, organised and efficient clinical environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations, relieving pressure on healthcare support workers and nurses, and contributing to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the ICU, adhering to infection‑control standards.
• Monitor and replenish stock levels of clinical and non‑clinical supplies.
• Prepare admission packs and clinical packs for patients.
• Provide support to patients’ relatives, offering information and assistance.
• Carry out clerical and environmental duties, including documentation and waste management.
• Assist the nursing team by taking forward non‑clinical tasks to improve workflow.

Required profile

• Friendly, organised and proactive with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom, with appropriate visa or settled status.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
