Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist

About the role

This permanent Band 5 position offers a six‑month rotational experience across a range of acute services at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. You will work within stroke and critical care, orthopaedics, surgical, acute medicine, medicine for the elderly and palliative care teams, gaining broad clinical exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients’ physical, cognitive, psychological and environmental needs.
• Manage a personal caseload while collaborating with multi‑agency partners.
• Participate in weekend shifts as part of the service rota.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement projects and evidence‑based practice.
• Travel across Fife to provide therapy services in various settings.

Required profile

• Registered Occupational Therapist (HCPC‑registered).
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
• Willingness to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and on‑call duties.
• Commitment to professional development and supervision.

Required skills

• Competence in occupational therapy assessment and intervention.
• Knowledge of acute care pathways and multidisciplinary teamwork.
