Charge Nurse – Acute Cardiology & General Medicine

About the role

Victoria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to join the senior nursing team on Ward 21 (CCU) and Ward 23. This full‑time position offers the chance to develop both clinical expertise and leadership skills within a busy acute cardiology and general medicine environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the Senior Charge Nurse and the Charge Nurse team.
• Drive service improvement initiatives and contribute to change management across both wards.
• Oversee patient flow, capacity and safe delivery of care on a high‑turnover, monitored bed environment.
• Ensure compliance with organisational objectives and patient‑centred care standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with post‑registration experience in an acute clinical setting.
• Commitment to acute cardiology and general medicine care.
• Demonstrated leadership knowledge and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to engage in service improvement projects or initiate change.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in acute and chronic cardiology and medical illnesses.
• Understanding of capacity and flow management in high‑turnover wards.
