Clinical Educator – Perioperative

About the role

This position offers an experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) the chance to lead educational activities within the peri‑operative environment. The role involves supporting staff development, coordinating training programmes, and contributing to the planning of the new Monklands Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a learning culture and create opportunities for staff education and training.
• Coordinate and evaluate educational activities and staff development initiatives within the peri‑operative department.
• Plan, implement and assess training programmes to ensure compliance with clinical guidelines.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and supervision to multidisciplinary teams.
• Support the development of new facilities and services at New Monklands Hospital.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or ODP with a valid professional registration.
• Minimum three years of scrub experience and team‑leadership experience.
• Educated to degree level or working towards it, with postgraduate expertise in the specialty.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards relevant to peri‑operative practice.
