Deputy Director of Pharmacy & Medicines

About the role

The Deputy Director of Pharmacy & Medicines will help shape and deliver transformational pharmacy services for a population of around 370,000 across primary, community, mental health and hospital settings. This senior leadership position works closely with the Director to drive integrated, data‑driven care and improve health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of pharmaceutical care aligned with population health, service renewal and sub‑national planning.
• Advance the integrated pharmacy model and oversee major transformation programmes, including digital medicines, data‑driven care, medicines safety and high‑risk medicines initiatives.
• Transform hospital pharmacy clinical and supply services and design future workforce models across the service.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen system‑wide collaboration and regional planning.
