Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests onboard, ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout their stay. This role requires active listening, problem‑solving, and a good sense of humor to address guest concerns promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to guest inquiries, offer assistance, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates, and maintain accurate records.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• Strong hospitality mindset with excellent communication, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.
• Friendly, passionate, committed, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work onboard for a 5‑6 month period.

Required skills

• Cash handling experience and familiarity with US currency and exchange rates.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment (telephone, computer, copier).
• Fluent English (spoken and written); additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish are essential.
