Pharmacy Technician (Rotational and Checking)

About the role

Join NHS Lanarkshire as a Pharmacy Technician on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, working across rotational areas within the Aseptic Services department. You will support the delivery of high‑quality pharmaceutical services to hospital patients while following established Standard Operating Procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense in‑patient, out‑patient, controlled‑drug, clinical‑trial and clozapine prescriptions in line with SOPs.
• Perform final accuracy checks on prescriptions prepared by other staff.
• Deputise for the Senior Pharmacy Technician during absences.
• Answer telephone and face‑to‑face technical enquiries from staff and patients, escalating where appropriate.

Required profile

• Diploma or SQA National Certificate in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) enabling registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
• Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.
• Commitment to GPhC revalidation and maintenance of a professional development portfolio.
