Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist – Cross‑sector Role

About the role

This is a Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist position that combines work in GP practices with experience on hospital wards or departments. The role is patient‑centred and designed to develop your clinical and technical pharmacy skills while you progress through the RPS Foundation Training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pharmacy services across primary (GP) and secondary (hospital) care settings.
• Develop and apply clinical pharmacy knowledge to support patient care.
• Participate in integrated service projects and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Complete learning outcomes of the RPS Post Registration Foundation Training programme, including the independent prescribing qualification.
• Engage with educational supervisors and peer foundation pharmacists for ongoing support.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist, recent graduate or currently in the postgraduate foundation year.
• Willingness to work across sectors and develop clinical leadership.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous learning.
