About the role
The Primary Care Mental Health Worker will join the Primary Care Mental Health Service within Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership. Working closely with General Practice, the role focuses on increasing access to evidence‑based psychological therapies for common mental health conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver low‑intensity psychological interventions individually and in group settings.
- Promote wellbeing and a recovery‑focused approach for patients with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
- Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to align services with primary care priorities.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of the Primary Care Modernisation Programme.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to NHS governance standards.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the NMC or Health and Care Professions Council.
- Minimum three years post‑registration experience in mental health, preferably in primary or community settings.
- Positive attitude towards people with mental health problems and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Required skills
- Behavioural activation techniques.
- Low‑intensity psychological therapies (e.g., psycho‑educational groups).
- Computer literacy.
- Valid driving licence.
