Product Support Engineer – Digital Mine

About the role

We are looking for a Product Support Engineer to join our Digital Mine team in Santiago, Chile. The position is hybrid, with time spent at Wabtec offices, weekly visits to BHP offices, and regular on‑site work at the BHP Escondida mine. You will be the primary technical liaison for our Collision Awareness System (CAS) and Drill Guidance System (DGS) portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical services and product support for CAS, DGS and future Digital Mine solutions.
• Continuously monitor system performance, alarms and status, identifying and escalating anomalies.
• Transform raw data into clear, goal‑oriented reports that drive safety and productivity improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize customer needs and influence product road‑maps.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, performing root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of CAS monitoring, diagnostics and reporting.
• Proven ability to analyse data and produce actionable insights.
• Experience with Linux administration, Microsoft Server, IIS and SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of network and communications technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work safely in a mining environment.
