Registered Nurse – Medical/Gastroenterology

About the role

Join a multidisciplinary team at NHS Lanarkshire as a Registered Nurse specialising in medical and gastro‑enterology care. You will assess patient needs, develop and evaluate care programmes, and deliver high‑quality nursing services without direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care programmes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Direct, coordinate and supervise staff on the ward, providing cover for senior charge nurses when required.
• Adhere to national and local policies, legislation, procedures and clinical standards.
• Demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures for registered, unregistered staff and student nurses.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• Excellent team‑working ability and initiative.
• Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
