Registered Nurse - Medicine/Gastroenterology

About the role

The NHS Lanarkshire team is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a multidisciplinary Gastroenterology ward. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and delivering high‑quality care, and supporting the ward’s day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient care programmes.
• Deliver nursing care independently and supervise junior staff and students as required.
• Provide cover for senior charge nurse or team leader when absent.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to national and local policies, legislation and clinical protocols.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• Minimum two years post‑registration experience.
• Strong team‑working ability and initiative.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
