Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner

About the role

Join NHS Lanarkshire as a Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner and play a vital part in delivering high‑quality patient care across North and South Lanarkshire. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess care needs, develop care programmes and ensure their successful implementation and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and design appropriate care programmes.
• Implement and evaluate care programmes to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team members.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, standards and professional codes of conduct.
• Report outcomes to senior staff to support monitoring of care standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• SVQ Level III or Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
• Strong team‑working abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NMC/HPC & AODP Codes of Professional Conduct.
• Proficiency in patient assessment and care planning.
