Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner – Theatre Scrub

About the role

This permanent position is based within NHS Lanarkshire’s theatre department. The successful candidate will work as a Registered Nurse and Operating Department Practitioner, providing scrub support and ensuring high‑quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate care programmes in the operating theatre.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team members.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, standards and professional codes of conduct.
• Report outcomes to senior staff to support monitoring of care standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• SVQ Level III or Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
• Excellent team‑working abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
