Registered Nurse – Patient Care Services (Full-Time, Gastroenterology)

About the role

Jefferson Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate patient‑care services on a gastroenterology unit. The RN will work full‑time day shifts, leading daily operations, supporting the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring safe, compassionate care for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the unit’s daily workflow, acting as a clinical resource and role model for the care team.
• Facilitate patient flow across admissions, transfers, and discharge, optimizing throughput.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to maintain consistent interdisciplinary care plans.
• Monitor staffing levels, authorize overtime, and assist with payroll and schedule adjustments.
• Participate in performance improvement, risk management, and policy compliance activities.
• Mentor colleagues, contribute to Magnet and Shared Governance initiatives, and support professional development.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license.
• Experience in acute care, preferably in gastroenterology or a related specialty.
• Strong understanding of patient‑centered care, cultural competence, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Smart Square scheduling system.
