Registered Nurse – Surgical Assessment Unit

About the role

The Surgical Assessment Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, developing and implementing care programmes, and evaluating outcomes to ensure high‑quality care without direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient care programmes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to national and local policies, legislation, procedures and standards.
• Demonstrate procedures and supervise registered/unregistered staff and student nurses as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
• Strong team‑working ability and capacity to work independently.
• Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment.
