Senior Accountant – Remote US GAAP Role

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle for a US‑based client, working remotely from Chile. You will own the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close, prepare financial statements under US GAAP, and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the monthly, quarterly and annual close on schedule, maintaining cycle‑time and quality.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements in accordance with US GAAP, including supporting schedules.
• Manage journal entries, accruals, prepaid items, fixed‑asset accounting and resolve aging balances.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and drive resolution of unexplained differences.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting and cash reporting, meeting defined turnaround standards.
• Maintain accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows, and update close checklists and SOPs.
• Provide audit and tax support, preparing PBC deliverables and responding to auditor queries.
• Produce monthly reporting packages and variance analysis understandable to non‑accountants.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in a US‑based environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and full‑cycle accounting.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of end‑to‑end processes.
• Excellent communication skills to interact directly with finance leadership.
