Senior Clinical Pharmacist – General Surgery & Theatres

About the role

Join NHS Fife as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist supporting General Surgery, Urology, ENT and theatre services. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient‑centred care, optimise medication use and contribute to service redesign across pre‑assessment and inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy expertise on surgical wards, pre‑assessment clinics and outpatient services.
• Support safe prescribing, treatment optimisation and therapeutic monitoring.
• Develop and expand pharmacist‑led outpatient clinics and inpatient ward services.
• Lead the creation and revision of clinical guidelines and prescribing pathways.
• Collaborate with consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacists and other MDT members.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and medicines optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with experience in acute or surgical settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and service innovation.
• Independent Prescribing qualification highly desirable; training provided if not yet qualified.

Required skills
