Staff Nurse – Band 5 Inpatient Team

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Band 5 registered nurse to join our small inpatient team at Cowal Community Hospital. The role involves caring for acutely admitted patients, supporting rehabilitation transfers, and coordinating complex discharge plans, including palliative and end‑of‑life care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred nursing care to patients admitted from casualty and other hospitals.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Support rehabilitation pathways and complex discharge planning.
• Deliver palliative and end‑of‑life care with compassion and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to NHS policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Registered nurse (Band 5) with a valid NHS Scotland registration.
• Enthusiastic and able to work within a small, close‑knit team.
• Willingness to develop skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
• Suitable for a newly qualified nurse.
