Support Medical Secretary – Acute Service

About the role

The Acute Service is seeking a Support Medical Secretary to provide essential administrative and secretarial assistance. You will work closely with clinical teams to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver administrative and secretarial support within the Acute Service.
• Perform accurate audio typing of clinical documents.
• Maintain and update records using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Assist with NHS waiting‑times reporting and use of medical terminology where required.
• Provide flexible support both independently and as part of a team.

Required profile

• Proven secretarial and administrative experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Competent audio typist with a robust working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Desirable knowledge of NHS waiting‑times and medical terminology.
• Motivated, flexible and able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
