About the role

The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance, repair and installation of designated radio‑communication systems for Motorola Solutions' mining customers. The role ensures client safety and timely response in line with established schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned telecommunications systems.
• Monitor and control radio‑communication equipment deployed at various customer locations.
• Respond promptly to service requests, adhering to agreed timelines.
• Maintain energy‑backup systems such as Eaton power plants and generator sets in optimal condition.
• Follow Motorola and CMDIC safety regulations, including the risk management cycle (CGR).

Required profile

• Higher‑level Electronic Technician degree in Telecommunications or a related field.
• Valid Class B driver’s license and a mining‑specific driving permit.
• Availability for a 7‑day on‑call rotation (7x7 schedule).
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time.

Required skills

• Radio‑frequency knowledge.
• Experience with AC/DC power systems.
• Proficiency in managing energy‑backup solutions (Eaton plants, UPS, generators).
• Understanding of telecommunications equipment and maintenance procedures.
