Charge Nurse – Early Pregnancy Service

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Charge Nurse to join the expanding early pregnancy service within NHS Fife. The role is based primarily at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, with occasional duties at the new Gynaecology Unit in Dunfermline, delivering person‑centred outpatient care to women experiencing early pregnancy complications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nurse‑led assessment, investigation and treatment for early pregnancy patients.
• Deliver specialist clinical care and reproductive health options tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care programmes.
• Work mainly in the outpatient department of Victoria Hospital, with some clinical activity at Queen Margaret Hospital.

Required profile

• NMC‑registered nurse with a degree‑level qualification.
• Previous experience in gynaecology, infertility or early pregnancy care (advantageous).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and meet UK right‑to‑work requirements.

Required skills

• NMC registration.
• Clinical assessment, investigation and treatment competencies in early pregnancy care.
